Two schools, Academies, and Drew the science Magnet, the Council embraced the only option that needs a turnaround model: replace half of teachers.

The Council voted to hire outside groups to run four other schools–including the Lafayette high school, which has been losing out on up to almost $ 4 million in federal aid in the past two years because of failure to submit a plan of sufficient improvement.

The head of Miguel a. Medina said he submitted a plan 33 page district by his deadline of December 2. Associate Superintendent Debra s. Sykes said he didn’t know why his Office provided Council members with just an eight-page summary of the plan Monday.
